One year ago we released our debut EP The Conclusion, which included the three songs “Can’t Stop Running”, “Fashion”, and “Never Think Twice”. These tracks opened many doors and opportunities for us in the last twelve months, including remixes for fashion shows, producing singles and EPS for other artists, and writing custom tracks for brands and advertisers. Also in that time the single “Can’t Stop Running” slowly gained momentum with fans, first started spinning on Top 40 radio stations in November of 2013, and is currently #35 on the Top 40 Indicator Chart with over 5000 total spins across the nation. So we’ve been busy.
But it’s time to get back to BZZZ. We’ve been in the studio recording new stuff, prepping our live show, and are super excited to release our new single “New Girl” on April 15th, 2014. It’s a killer fun song full of hooks and grooves, and includes a sick guitar solo by our friend James Valentine. Thanks James!
Preview the track now here on our website, and buy it on iTunes on April 15th!
Hello friends, we have some fun news. In the last two weeks the BZZZ single “Can’t Stop Running” appeared on the Billboard Top 40 Indicator Chart, then charted for the first time on the Nielsen Top 40 Indicator Chart at #39, then jumped to #35 this week with over 3500 total spins on Top 40 stations in ten states. Then over on the Mediabase Activator chart, “Can’t Stop Running” jumped 40 spots to #37. Interesting observation – every single song above BZZZ on the Mediabase chart is on a major label. Hmmm.
The national radio airplay of “Can’t Stop Running” these last few months has helped drive more than 30,000 views of the official music video, which is cool. Directed by Mark J. Blackman, this electro pop love story about a boy and girl who meet at a dance marathon was shot in London in an underground club and released in September of 2013. Coincidentally, Fat Boy Slim released a music video two months later, also shot in London, that is well…very similar. Did BZZZ “inspire” Fat Boy Slim? If so, that’s even more cool. Check out both videos below and let us know what you think in the comments.
